Kilkenny, Stash Augmentation, and a Prize!

I have to start this post with one of the most wonderful things that has happened to me in a long time.  I won a Rainey Sisters Mug!  Woo hoo!  I entered their anniversary contest and submitted my most disastrous knitting story.  It's too painful to go into detail again but you can read all about it here.  My morning coffee definitely tastes better in a Rainey Sisters mug.  Thanks, Susan and Sally!

RaineymugThe Rainey Sisters are just so cute.  Look at Susan's Kauni cardigan.  This weekend it was in the 80s and I can't fathom wearing wool right now.

Okay.  Knitting content.  I've been merrily knitting away on Kilkenny.  I've finished the front and back and am doing the sleeves together at the same time.  I like knowing that when they're done Kilkenny is just about finished.  It seems to take forever to do them, but I know they'll be identical.

There has been much stash enhancing going on in the last few months.  I hold Lorraine mostly to blame.  Her birthday was last week and in honor of her birthday I purchased more yarn.  I think it was a wonderful tribute to such a dear friend, don't you?

Here is the latest from The Woolen Rabbit:

Woolenrabbitloot From left to right:  Scarlett Devil lace, Scarlett Devil sock, Calendula Sock, and Tequila Sunrise sock.   Scrumptious.

And here is the latest from White Willow:

Whitewillowloot From left to right:  3 hanks of Snowflake lace, Sandstone rose sock, and Spot sock yarn.

That's about it for now.   A quick drive by blog post is better than nothing, no?

Chips Ahoy!

Last August when Lorraine and I met in Chicago she brought me Ketchup and Dill Pickle potato chips.   They were out of this world.   On Friday I got a box from her and it had Ketchup, Dill Pickle, and Roastin Chicken chips!  Why, it was practically a meal!

Anyone who loves chips will go insanely crazy for these.  They are like no other chips I've tasted.  Everyone Chez Purls lovest them!

After dinner there's always dessert.  How about a slice of Flamingo Pie?

flamingopie.jpg  Doesn't it look delicious???  It's Dream in Color Baby Laceweight.  Two skeins.  2 die 4.

If you don't get enough of dessert, there's always this:  White chocolate bark and chewy minty candies.  Yum.  Yum.  Yum.

Meanwhile, there has been a little knitting going on.  I've been working on Anne Hanson's Hot Waffles Hat and Mitts.  I've done one mitt and I'm knitting it in Dream in Color Classy, Beach Fog.

Thank you Lorraine!  You're such a sweetheart.

Oh Lookie.  A Ketchup chip landed in the palm of my mitt.  I must go now.

It’s Just Sockerrific

Little Bunny Foo Foo.  Who could resist a sock yarn color named Little Bunny Foo Foo?  I was thrilled to receive the Foo Foo from Lorraine as a prezzie several weeks ago.  I'm just getting around to photo documenting this cutie, so I thought I'd come clean with 2 other colors I purchased as well; Lucy and Lemongrass.   Thanks for my very own Little Bunny Foo Foo, Lorraine!

And speaking of Lorraine..... why don't you pop on over to her blog and wish her a Happy Birthday!!   (Sorry Lorraine - you didn't think you'd get off that easy, did you??!)
